Accomplishments
Since its inception in 1992, Warren County Economic Development Corporation has had many business and infrastructure development successes. Below are some of the organization’s most recent accomplishments.
- Since 2002, assisted 24 businesses with 25 projects creating 421 jobs and adding 356,000+ square feet of industrial and commercial space.
- Assisted in securing a $142,510 grant from the Iowa Transportation Commission allowing the development of the Hillcrest Industrial Park.
- Recent projects include the expansion of DataVision and Soy Innovations and new locations of Powdered Metal Products and La Quercia.
- Lobbied and secured $ 2,660,000 for the Highway 92 corridor study and design.
- Lobbied and secured $ 525,000 for the Southwest Connector Interchange Justification Report and Environmental Impact Statement.
- Lobbied and secured $ 2,672,000 for trail and intersection improvements to the Scotch Ridge Center in Carlisle, Iowa.
- Collaborated with Polk and Dallas Counties to update a countywide laborshed survey.
- Sustained a 13 year-old adult leadership program with 250+ graduates.
- Organized the Warren County Philanthropic Partnership in 2005, a countywide community foundation, to provide funding assistance for non-profit entities in Warren County.
- Assisted the Warren County Conservation Board in obtaining funding for the recreational trail from Carlisle to Indianola. Funding obtained a total of $1,200,000.
- Represent Warren County at Choose Des Moines Communities, the regional economic development and marketing organization for the three-county metro area.
- Developed a three-year marketing plan, The Roadmap to Success Sales & Marketing Plan that encourages countywide unity in business and government to achieve economic development goals.
