Commercial Services

Warren County is naturally set with a variety of commercial services to accommodate your living and doing business.  From conference centers at Simpson College to affordable living, Warren County gives residents and business owners the tools for success.

Hotels & Conference Centers

Warren County has a broad range of spaces available for business travelers and meetings.  Indianola has three moderately priced hotels for lodging needs, Super 8 Hotel, The Apple Tree Inn, and Woods Motel & RV Park.  Also in Indianola, Simpson College offers several conference facilities with capacity to accommodate up to 450 people.  Just north of Indianola, Summerset Winery offers rooms that accommodate up to 256 people.  Additionally, Warren County has an abundance of golf courses with available space for meetings, parties, or other occasions.

Financial Institutions

Warren County is home to eight financial institutions throughout the various communities.  The county accommodates the following banks:  Bank of the West, City State Bank, Community State Bank, Great Western Bank, Midwest Heritage Bank, People’s Bank, Regions Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank.  Many of the banks in Warren County have numerous branches in the various communities.

Housing Market

Warren County is an inviting and lively place to live with comparable or lower housing costs compared to other parts of the Des Moines metropolitan.  In addition, Warren County’s housing market is naturally set with places such as Carlisle’s Danamere Farms Conservation Community. 

Healthcare & Emergency Services

Warren County has the benefit of living in a state that ranks second in health system performance.  Iowa’s average hospital outpatient charge per visit of $466 is lower than the national average of $781.  The county is also blessed with a number of health clinics, physicians, dentists, optometrists, and chiropractors.  Iowa Lutheran, Mercy Medical Center, and Iowa Methodist are all located in the Des Moines Metro area, as well as Blank Children’s Hospital which specializes in children’s care.

There are six hospitals in the Des Moines metropolitan with 2,281 hospital beds serving metro residents.  Warren County ranks high in the number of emergency medical technicians with 192 professionals ranking in training from basic to paramedic specialists.

Regional Malls

A number of regional malls are located within the Des Moines area with a variety of shopping opportunities.  Located within 13 miles of Norwalk is Iowa’s largest and the region’s newest, shopping center, Jordan Creek Town Center.  Also located in the Des Moines region are Southridge Mall, Valley West Mall, and Merle Hay Mall.
