WCEDC Administers Third Veteran Owned Business Grant

Today WCEDC administered the third Veteran Incentive Grant to Eric Moorman with his new business, Backroad Brewery, in Carlisle. This $1,000 grant will allow Backroad Brewery to expand their operation by purchasing 17 new kegs for a major increase in production. This will be the first brewery in Warren County and we could not be happier to have them here! Backroad Brewery is currently brewing Mudslinger Chocolate Stout, Honey I'm Home IPA, and Dizzy Blonde Ale. These beers will soon be available at Back Alley Smokehouse in Carlisle and in the future at Brickhouse Tavern in Indianola. We look forward to their continued expansions and successes as they continue to grow and expand their business!

WCEDC provides a $1,000 incentive to any veteran who opens a new business, or any existing veteran owned business that is expanding. The funds are available to the first ten eligible veterans per year.

In attendance for the Grant presentation were WCEDC staff, WCEDC board president Doug Shull, Carlisle Mayor Ruth Randleman, City Administrator Andrew Lent, and Chamber Director Barb Rasko.
