2009 Kent Britten Leadership Award
Kevin Halterman

The Kent Britten Memorial Leadership Award was presented to Kevin Halterman, President of Peoples Bank on April 16, 2009. The award was given during the graduation ceremony for the 2009 Class of the Warren County Leadership Institute. Kevin Halterman was honored for the excellent qualities of leadership that he has displayed while serving Warren County.

A donation has been made in Mr. Halterman's name to Warren County Leadership Institute fundraising effort to assist Warren County Schools with the curriculum cost of sending children to Jr. Achievement academy.

Kathy Stravers nominated Mr. Halterman for the Kent Britten Memorial Leadership Award, wrote that Halterman is involved in many of the community activities and encourages all the employees of the bank to do the same. His whole philosophy for starting the bank, was to offer the people of Indianola and the surrounding communities a locally run bank. He is a past Board member of Warren County Economic Development and graduated from the Warren County Leadership Institute class in 2003. Peoples Bank continues to support Warren County Leadership Institute by donating supplies for the class. He currently resides on the Board at DMACC.

The Warren County Leadership Institute committee was proud to present the 2009 Kent Britten Memorial Leadership Award to a well-deserving Warren County resident.

The Kent Britten Memorial Leadership Award is named in honor of Kent Britten, Warren County Leadership Institute Class of 2000 and WCLI Board Member until his unexpected death in March 2005. “Kent was a man who was humble and would do anything he was asked. He was an inspiration and magnificent role model for all. He was involved in more volunteer opportunities than most are involved in their entire lifetimes. He had a great passion for life that was obvious and was a major reason for his success. This showed in how he was always giving to help others. Kent made the world a much better place to be. We thank God for what he achieved in his short life and that he displayed this with so much class.” In memoriam by fellow alumnus Rick Wilson, WCLI Class of 1998.
